Brooksville, Florida
Brooksville is an incorporated city in and the county seat of Hernando County, Florida, in the United States. Hernando County.〔(【引用サイトリンク】accessdate=2011-06-07 )〕 It is a suburban city included in the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Brooksville was named in 1856 for Preston Brooks, a congressman from South Carolina.〔()〕 Brooksville is home to historic buildings and residences including the home of former Florida Governor William Sherman Jennings and football player Jerome Brown.

According to the United States Census Bureau, Brooksville has a total area of 5.0 square miles (12.9 km2). 4.9 square miles (12.8 km2) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km2) of it (0.60%) is water.
